The Dining Room is searching for an additional kitchen hand to join their team in a fast paced kitchen. The role is not for the faint hearted, but can be an enriching experience in the hospitality industry. We offer valuable industry experience in the food industry, and being a kitchen hand is a great way to get your foot in the door. It’s also a great way to stay fit.

No two days are the same! Every shift is a new experience, which keeps you on your toes. We require initiative, reliability, speed and efficiency to get the job done. Some experience is helpful, but not necessary as we will provide the training. All you need to bring is a positive attitude for work and a willingness to learn. We have a mixture of day and evening shifts to create flexibility and a work/life balance.

We have been established since 2001 and serving locals and tourists alike for the past 21 years. We are open from Monday to Saturday and serve approximately 1,000 guests a day. Our kitchen team is responsible for ensuring that every meal that is served is of a high standard, which every team member has a role in ensuring this happens.

Responsibilities include:

• Communicating with other kitchen team members
• Maintaining your work area to a high standard during shift
• Cleaning equipment and appliances
• Some food preparation
• Washing dishes, pots and utensils
• Retrieving items requested by the kitchen team
• Receiving and storing deliveries
• Cleaning down work space to a high standard
• Emptying rubbish bins during service
