McAdams Distribution is a local family-owned business that supplies high-end construction materials to contractors and companies in the Canterbury region. We pride ourselves on our great work ethic, awesome team and prompt delivery times. We run a team of 55+ strong staff and aim to expand our operations in early 2023 to cover a greater network of businesses by establishing a new delivery branch in Dunedin.

Our distribution network spans the greater Canterbury region, and extends south to a few primary warehouses for re-distribution in Ashburton and Timaru. We run a modern fleet of trucks for our deliveries, but still have some older models for our longer haul services. We know how important our environment is and to offset our carbon emissions, we even take 1-2 days per year to contribute to local green community initiatives. Just last year our awesome McAdams' team banded together to help to plant 500 native saplings across the wider Canterbury region.

This position is suited for a passionate and motivated individual, preferably with some warehouse experience, and who has a Forklift Drivers License. The role is to assist in the operations and logistics of the inwards and outwards goods area, ensuring that deliveries are ready to be moved to their destination. A key requirement is strong knowledge of Health & Safety.

The key responsibilities are:

• Maintaining an organised storeroom
• Sorting inward and outward goods
• Using a forklift in a safe manner
• Ensuring that Health & Safety standards are maintained
• Maintaining a positive rapport with Colleagues, Suppliers, Reps and Delivery Drivers

Our ideal candidate will have previous industry experience in either supermarkets or warehouse distribution. They will be reliable in turning up on shift, ready to go. They will have the ability to communicate thoroughly on all levels. They must be well organised and show good attention to detail. They must be a team player, but also have the ability to work independently. They must always have exceptional customer service as a priority.

Applicants must hold New Zealand citizenship, New Zealand Permanent Residency, or a Valid New Zealand Work Permit, and a valid Forklift Drivers License.

Required Skills
