Wellington Trades specialises in construction, repair and renovation work in residential, commercial and industrial sectors. We provide plenty of opportunity to learn a variety of skills, helping you kick start your career through valuable, on the job training from experienced workers who have been in the industry for a total of fifty years between them. 

You’ll be working on a variety of sites doing basic labouring roles including assisting builders, moving materials and site clean up, as well as working alongside our skilled team to develop your skills and knowledge in:

• Building site preparation skills
• Building techniques and methods
• How to read technical drawings
• How to carry out quality checks
• Measurement and estimation skills
• How to operate construction machinery

We're looking for an enthusiastic person to join our team. Ideally you’ll have spent some time on a building site and have some basic knowledge and skills however, the right attitude is the most important thing, as you'll be given plenty of opportunity to learn on the job!

We're looking for someone who:

• Has the ability to use initiative
• Has a good work ethic Is eager to learn
• Is committed to safe work practices
• Has good communication and team work skills
• Is able to work efficiently

You must:

• Have good strength and fitness
• Have a full drivers license
• Have New Zealand citizenship, New Zealand Permanent Residency, or a Valid New Zealand Work Permit.
